From the Art Gallery of NSW

We go to the Art Gallery of NSW three or four times a year but always in April to see the Archibald’s. These shots were taken April 2006 while we sat on the deck enjoying a wondrous day and drinking a traditional (for us) glass of Champagne.

Dream Deferred

by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?

Or fester like a sore–
And then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Palm Beach Seaplane

I watch these seaplanes fly by my house every day. They do the hop between Sydney Harbour and Palm Beach in about 15 minutes — the same distance in a car can take over an hour. They fly low along the coast — the scenery is fantastic. I did it once in a helicopter, part of a 50th birthday gift from my wife. We flew around the harbour then we came up here and then we flew to the Blue Mountains. Quite an experience — one of those follies we sometime indulge in on special occasions. :-)
